Hello My name is James G Nichols, I am not a resident of Alice Springs but I support a safe environment with clean water and clean air to breathe for my relatives who do live in Alice Springs. However, I do have concerns that this may change with the introduction of Shale and Tight Gas Fracking.

I have many levels of concern, with water being high on my list.

• Fracking is extremely water intensive. With millions of litres of our precious water used in a single frack, 
• Contamination of underground water due to casing failure.
• Migration of gas and toxic substances into ground water through natural faults and sub fracks.
• Pollution of waterways from waste water and chemicals spills.

We need to protect our communities dependent upon clean water and encourage our government to work to sustainably manage and conserve water resources.

My concerns are not just for my relatives and the current community, but include future generations that also have a right to clean air and water.

Please consider the future of the Alice Springs community as a priority.
