I am not against industry, just against any environmentally devastation caused by industry. There is a way a company can source gas & energy in an environmentally beneficial way.
TURN TRASH INTO TREASURE
There are alternative way for gas extraction that are
environmentally friendly & renewable. This is already done
overseas, in Brazil, I’ve also seen this in the 1980’s beyond 2000
show. This involves using a garbage dump, fill the dump with sugar
cane off cuts, then bury (as practised by all dumps). Install vents to
brew away underground & produce petrol & other gasses. This
practise in done in Brazil. Garbage dumps are easy supply &
extremely plentiful & renewable too. Yes garbage (Trash) can
become Treasure (Gas Supply).
FRANK SHUMAN SOLAR PLANT IN EGYPT 1913 (Check This On Google)
Invented the 1st Solar Energy & 1st to patent back in
1913. He used solar energy very much like today. After collecting
solar energy ,using low water pressure & steam to power the
turbine. He could pump 6000 gallons of water per minute from the Nile
to crops. Unfortunately, oil was cheap & his power plant was
scrapped for metal in WW1. Today, we can expand on Shuman’s invention,
perhaps a Desalination Plant by the sea using solar energy for both
Power & Water. In times of drought we could pipe the water inland
for crops (for food) & tree farms for the wood industry. The more
we plant crops & forest the more oxygen will be produced.
COMPANIES NEED TO FIND ALTERNATIVE ENERGY SUPPLY FOR THE FUTURE
The world will run out of fossil fuel, so it’s important to
find alternatives that are not expensive or environmentally damaging.
In Iceland they use geo-thermal energy powered from volcanos.
Companies that find better alternatives for energy will have community
support & job creations.
AGAINST FRACKING- CONTAMINATING AQUIFERS
I have watched Gasland & how damaging Fracking is to
the environment. A patented & toxic chemical is used to Fracture
rock to release gas. The chemicals contaminate aquifers. It’s just as
good as dumping nuclear waste into aquifers. In the USA, underground
water & aquifers looked like Soda, bubbly water, once a
match/lighter is ignited the water bursts into flames. People were
burnt & houses were exploded. People bathed in the water & had
severe skin reactions. Surrounding trees, bushes, grass &
wildlife died out because of the chemicals. There is enough evidence
that Fracking will cause serious damage to the environment &
wildlife. Do we want the Darwin-Daly River full of dead fish!
In geological history the last time earth’s oceans released methane was the Great Dying. The seas were deprived of oxygen, dead fish release more gas & 95% of life was wiped out. Too much Fracking will mimic the Great Dying & will literally FTW!
The NT has a pristine environment , pristine water supply due to the wet seasons that feeds the aquifers. Fracking will poison & devastate our aquifers. In this day & age in the world Fresh Water is becoming as precious as diamonds because water is becoming scarce. Not many countries have quality freshwater as we do in the NT. Fresh water should be sacred, not polluted. Fracking is just as offensive & harmful as dumping nuclear waste into our waters.
Fracking should be banned! There are better alternatives for sourcing more energy, money & jobs can be made too.
